Help us move from startup success to long term sustainability!

Mount Gretna School of Art has successfully attracted inspiring students, artists and lecturers from the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond since its inaugural summer session of 2013.

Your help with this campaign will bring the school one step closer toward securing a lasting presence in the region.

We're proud to announce that a campaign for Artist Cottage #3 is underway with a $200,000 campaign to purchase and renovate 411 5th street. Moreover a $100,000 dollar-for-dollar matching grant from the Thomas A and Georgina T Russo Family Foundation is a powerful incentive to donate today.

Our transformative programming deserves to last! Artist Cottages ensure that our artists will live, eat and breath art all day everyday while participating in our programs, making our school more sustainable.

A special characteristic of Mount Gretna is its 100+ year history as a welcoming summer residential arts and education retreat in the spirit and tradition of the Chautauqua Movement. MGSoA's own residential programming fits in like "hand in glove!"

Artist Cottage #1 & #2 helped stabilize our search for housing each year and lightened the load on our operating budget. We are so grateful to everyone who donated money and energy to the effort and it's paying off!

Artist Cottage #3 is needed to save the Four Pillars artist residency and provide day-to-day operations help to the Executive Director. Last year we learned that we could no longer run the artist residency in August when the students were gone. The need for additional help to the Executive Director also emerged. We needed an additional cottage so that Four Pillars could run at the same time as the school, preserving both the artist residency and providing much needed help in the day-to-day operations of the school through service based fellowship agreements made with each artists.

These investments help ensure the longevity and fiscal stability of our school, making sure artists have a place to live and find inspiration as Mount Gretna neighbors for years to come!
