"In my view as director the Annual Fund is an important area of need right now.  After mounting a successful capital campaign to purchase our first artist residence in Mt Gretna last year the need is strong to rebuild our funds for 2017 to support scholarships, develop new programming (www.fourpillars.org), artist spaces, and remain fiscally sound.

I'm most proud that Annual Fund donations help create substantial scholarships year to year that spread goodwill throughout the art community we serve, and in turn keep our top quality program in good standing nationwide."

-Jay Noble, Executive and Artistic Director

Mount Gretna School of Art (MGSoA) successfully has attracted inspiring students, artists and lecturers from the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond since its inaugural summer session in 2013.  Donating to the annual fund will help support another powerful session in 2017!

IN 2017, YOUR DONATION TO OUR ANNUAL FUND MAY BE MATCHED DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR BY A GENEROUS "CHALLENGE FOR GIVING" GRANT FROM THE GREATER HARRISBURG FOUNDATION, A REGIONAL FOUNDATION OF THE FOUNDATION FOR ENHANCING COMMUNITIES (GHF). IF WE CAN RAISE $7500 TOWARD THIS GRANT, TFEC WILL BE WAITING AT THE FINISH LINE WITH AN ADDITIONAL $7500 CHECK TO CELEBRATE OUR ACHIEVEMENT.

Together we've reached $4590.00 of the $7500.00 needed as of May 23rd. Help us draw down the match!

Will my donation will be matched?

  • NEW DONORS. Never donated to the MGSoA Annual Fund before? Your donation is worth double to us right now!
  • LASPED DONORS. For once this could actually be a good thing. If you've donated before but you haven't donated to the MGSoA Annual Fund in the last year to date then your donation represents an exciting re-entry, worth double to us!
  • CURRENT DONORS THAT INCREASE. Current donors to our Annual Fund need not feel left out! If you make a donation that shows an increase over your contribution from the last year to date, the amount of the increase will be doubled. Maybe you were already planning to donate more this year anyway? Hooray! or were on the fence? Let this timely incentive help you over! Maybe you already donated this year? Donate again!

Are there any limits?

  • There's a $500 limit to the match per donor.  So if you donate $500, GHF will throw in $500 making it $1000... If you donate $1000, GHF will match $500 worth of it to make it $1500, and so on.
  • Individual household donors only. Sorry no business, foundation, or organization based contributions apply to the grant (but don't feel bad or left out, we've got another challenge grant in the works to boost your donation as well... stay tuned).

But I gave all I could to your Artist Cottage capital campaign last year and attended your ticketed fundraising events. Do these dollars leave me out?

  • CHEER UP! We're talking about the Annual Fund here. If you gave to some other one-time restricted purpose of the MGSoA within the last year to date then this donation is here to celebrate your re-entry to our Annual Fund donor base, and the launch of Four Pillars artist residency.

How close are you to your goal?

  • We're at $4590.00 of the $7500.00 needed as of May 23rd.  With your help this will be achieved, and the wonderful thing about a challenge grant is that small donors become extra valuable, allowing donors of all levels to have a big impact.

  • The period to accept donations to this grant is January 1st 2017 to December 31st 2017 but we need these funds ASAP so we can set things up for the coming summer! Please consider donating to this challenge grant within the VERY near future.

Feel free to call us at 717-823-8367 anytime if you have questions.
